This summer our Academy campers, ranging in age from 6-18, met a wide variety of challenges.Campers were challenged to figure out how to play a one-legged pirate, how to pronounce French and Cockney English, and how to act in non-naturalistic styles. While most campers joined us for just a few hours a day during a single week, several campers spent the entire summer at the theatre-as many as 8 weeks of camps!
We’re especially proud of the campers who were cast in Footloose! Michael Muzatko and his staff worked tirelessly with 26 talented young performers to create Spokane Civic Theatre Academy’s first production of a Broadway show.
With these great successes behind us we’re looking forward to a great fall quarter with classes designed to help singers prepare for Annie auditions, develop better technique, build acting experience and grow as performers and people. We’re also gearing up for our fourth annual scholarship fund benefit in December by gathering some exciting donations to our silent auction!
Fall 2011 Academy Courses begin Monday, September 19!

Every now and then I get an e-mail from a reader asking, “Jay, do you have a life?”
I wish.
But in reality, I do a lot of things off of the internet and away from my day job….
Jay Dolan of the Antisocial Media blogged this morning asking followers and theatre supporters (ok everyone) to donate a measly $5 to North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre to help them through weather the hard knock life that is a result our current economy. I think it’s pure brilliance.
